TO BE HOT OR NOT TO BE HOT???

"Close the window…no open the window….no put the air conditioning lower, well…….maybe not….no, I'm okay, just forget it!."
Sound familiar??? Okay so am I in menopause or not? Well, maybe it's perimenopause. Does anyone know???? Sometimes I'm in cycle and sometimes I'm not. What gives? Okay, now I can either go with the flow, (no pun intended) and deal with my emotions and let my body do its thing and be okay with where I am or I can fight this change all the way. Me, I'd rather flow. This article is not long enough to deal with all of the many facets of menopause so I have focused simply on the one part that I know most about. And that is, "as you think, so shall you be," your subconscious mind.
Menopause is not the most widely discussed topic and so maybe this subject is one of those quiet ones…one of those we are still whispering about. I however feel the need to ensure all of the women out there that silence is no longer necessary or even needed. Menopause is moving to the front lines ladies and we are standing tall and proud of who we are and how we are handling this "life change." Yes folks, life change. Our bodies know exactly what they are doing and exactly when is the correct time to help us into the next phase of our lives. The time in our lives when we are to take an even closer look at who we are and where we have been and even more importantly, where we are going.
Menopause refers to the cessation of menses- the term is derived from the Greek word, meno, meaning month and pausis, meaning pause. This natural process is also known to many women as the "change of life." We need to embrace this experience and not whither up and AGE!! We must use the wisdom of many ages to draw on our power, strengths and beauty.
The medical profession and the holistic healers are ready and able to help women through this time in their lives. What I have found is that we are so conditioned to believe that this life change in our cycles is to be traumatic, horrible, yucky, and that we have already convinced ourselves that we will fail. What a woman experiences during this time can depend highly on her heredity, her expectations, her self-esteem, her diet and even her cultural background. Hey ladies, we have survived growing breasts and pubic hair and the awkward stares and looks of the opposite sex for eons. So what makes this time in our lives so difficult? What beliefs are you carrying around and just waiting for so that you too can say…"it's been just terrible!?" How much hypnosis have you had? Have you been told by everyone it will be the worst time in your life, hot flashes, mood swings and all types of other horrible medical ailments? Have you been overwhelmed with societies message of not good enough and watch out for her, she's in menopause. Well, I am here to tell you that you have the right to this transition with peace of mind, body and spirit. You can enjoy this change and with the use of hypnosis you can in fact change the thought process to better equip you with the ability to handle this life change and many others. Hypnosis teaches you that your body is a robot and your mind is controlling your body, thus you can begin to see how one might be able to change their mind set enough to transition with great levels of peace, harmony and better health.
Yes, our hormone levels are changing and yes, we can prepare for that change by ensuring we are healthy. That's our job, we must make certain our minds, body and spirits are in good health to move effortlessly through the menopausal years. My belief is that this is the best time of our lives; it is the time when we move into "our lives." We leave behind the little girls and the responsibility of bearing children and into our truth of being us! Sure our bodies change, but they have been changing all along, we just didn't dwell on it, and we accepted it as natural. Well, menopause is natural too; it does not have to be a great trial and tribulation. We must look towards our futures where we now can create the healthy bodies we want for the rest of our lives.
Hypnosis done with an experienced Hypnotherapist can and does produce fabulous results for many women to relieve them of the emotional symptoms of menopause and even some of the physical symptoms. So ladies, grab your headsets and go to a place of peace and total health, go into your minds! (I record every session).
On a personal note…when getting your hormones tested try the saliva testing, it has a higer level of accuracy then the traditional blood tests. Also, be sure when finding a Hypnotherapist that you find someone who has trained for more than a weekend class of 16 hours. Ask for references and be weary of any healer who is unable to provide you with successful previous clients!
